Web Design Process
What to expect
Preliminary Design:
After we have discussed your web site, domain, hosting and design needs we will send you a contract and invoice. A signed contract and a deposit reserve your start date on our development schedule.
Once your start date arrives, we will start working on the preliminary design for your web site. This takes up to 1 week for us to complete.
Turnaround on delivery
Turnaround from when we receive all materials, required for your site to launch depends on your project’s specific needs. We will let you know the estimated turnaround in your quote. Our average time for web design is anywhere from 3-6 weeks depending on the size and complexity of your site.

Turnaround on delivery
Turnaround from when we receive all information and contracts to launch depends on your project’s specific needs, and we let you know the estimated turnaround in your quote.
We pay attention to the marketing and branding of your site. We make sure that there is consistent branding of your business throughout your site.
Collecting your information
To build you an effective website that gets results for your business, we need some information about your business and target market.
So after booking, the first step in designing a successful web site is to gather
information. Many things need to be taken into consideration when we
design the look and feel of your site, so we first ask a lot of
questions to help us understand your business and your needs in a
web site.
Using the information gathered we put together a
plan for your web site.
Here we develop a site map – a list of all main topic areas of the
site, as well as sub-topics (if applicable). This gives us a guide
as to what content will be on the site, and is essential to
developing a consistent, easy to understand navigational system.
This is also the point where we decide what technologies should be
implemented – interactive forms, CMS (content management system)
such as WordPress, etc. Your answers help us create the perfect site
for your business!
Time to design
After we have collected all your information we design a graphic concept that’s guaranteed to stir up the right emotions in your target client. We aim well beyond, “Nice site”. We want your customers to say, “Wow!”
The review phase
We present you with the complete design for your website’s home page.
Then we’ll let you review the completed site. It’ll be hidden from public eyes – but not yours! You’ll have a full week to click around, play with it, become familiar with how it works and browse around. We offer this time in case there are any minor changes you’d like to suggest.
Once you’ve had a chance to look over the initial designs, you have the opportunity to provide feedback or request changes. Ideally you’ll get back to us in 1-2 business days.
However, once you do get back to us with any revisions, the typical turnaround time for relatively simple changes is 2-3 business days. We continue this process of fine tuning the design until we have your approval.
An important note: Our revision policy covers two rounds of minor revisions during your review phase. For clients who enjoy a zillion revisions (and an exhausted team), extra rounds are available for a fee. Major changes to the design or requests for an entirely new design concept will be an additional cost.
Time to finish your site!
Once we receive your full approval on your web design concept, it’s time to code and turn your website live! We’ll send you a checklist of info we’ll need for this phase.
If we have built your site using the WordPress content management system, you’ll be able to add as many interior pages to your
site as you’d like in just two clicks, and each one automatically
picks up the template design you approved for a consistent, cohesive
branding throughout your entire site.
A Word on Tiny Differences
Each site is tested in both a Windows and Mac environment and for the latest versions of all major browsers, including Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer. It’ll look beautiful for everyone.
But please note that not all browsers are made equal, and there may be tiny differences that occur when viewing your site in different browsers. These tiny differences are absolutely normal and change nothing in the user experience.
There may also be tiny differences between the design concept and the actual, live site. This too is normal – there’s a big difference between a static image and a functional, fully coded website.
Adding content
When your website is fully coded, we can drop in the web copy/content you’ve prepared. If you have a workdpress site, we’ll drop in up to 10 pages of web copy/content, with additional drop-ins available at an extra fee.
We assume that key words, SEO and a full edit has been carried out by your professional content provider. If that’s not the case, just let us know, and we’ll prepare a quote for these needs.
Pre-launch testing
Once your website is fully coded and all content has been added to its pages, it’ll be ready for pre-launch testing and a final review. We’ll test all areas of your site to make sure it runs smooth as silk and looks great in major browsers and mobile viewers like iPhones and iPads.

The Fine Print:
For these rare situations when they occur:
1. Some clients disappear without a trace and stop responding to
our gentle nudges and inquiries.
2. Some clients who were ready and gung-ho about their project and pushed hard
for completion as quick as possible and then put everything on hold without warning.
3. Some clients become so busy they can’t review the site, and the
project stalls.
All three situations are puzzling to us but we do understand that sometimes these things happen. Unfortunately, after ten days of inactivity, we’re forced to close the project and move on to other clients waiting patiently to work with us.
We’re happy to pick up where we left off later on when you’re ready, and we’ll reopen the project for a fee of 25% of the original quote.
For cancelled projects, we apply any initial payment as a kill fee.
